How To Create Automatic WordPress Backups With Softaculous

By default we enable backups on every installation for our clients however If you wish to change the frequency of these backups then follow the guide below.

  1. Login to cPanel. If you’re unsure of how to log in to cPanel please follow this article.
  2. In the left-hand menu select WordPress Manager by Softaculous.

  3. In the top-right menu select “All Installations”

  4. Select the “Edit Details” button for the installation you want to enable/edit Automated backups for.

  5. Select the Automatic Backups details you wish to have.
    – Under automated backups choose the Backup frequency i.e. “Once a Day”, “Once a Week”, or “Once a Month”, choose “Don’t Backup” if you wish to disable automated backups
    – Under Backup Rotation. Select the number of automated backups you wish to have. By selecting 2 backups once the maximum limit is attained (2 backups), Softaculous will overwrite the earliest backup associated with this installation.
  6. Select the Save Installation Details button located at the bottom.
