How to enable two-factor authentication

To enable 2FA, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to cPanel.
  2. In the search bar, Type Two factor authentication then click it.
  3. Click Set Up Two-Factor Authentication
  4. Open the Authy app on your device and press add device located at the bottom
  5. Click scan QR code if you’re on your mobile or click enter key manually if you’re on a desktop
  6. Scan the QR code or enter the key in the app
  7. Click Save
  8. Enter the code generated in step 2 within cPanel
  9. Press Configure Two-Factor Authentication.
    2FA is now enabled within cPanel.

How to reconfigure two-factor authentication

To reconfigure 2FA, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to cPanel.
  2. In the search bar, Type Two factor authentication then click it.
  3. Click reconfigure Two-Factor Authentication
  4. Open the Authy app on your device and press add device located at the bottom
  5. Click scan QR code if you’re on your mobile or click enter key manually if you’re on a desktop
  6. Scan the QR code or enter the key in the app
  7. Click Save
  8. Enter the code generated in step 2 within cPanel
  9. Press Configure Two-Factor Authentication.
    Your existing 2FA will now be changed to the latest one. The old one will no longer work

How to remove two-factor authentication

To remove 2FA, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to cPanel.
  2. In the search bar, Type Two factor authentication then click it.
  3. Click remove Two-Factor Authentication.
  4. Confirm the removal of Two-Factor Authentication.
    2FA has now been removed.
