How to view disk usage in cPanel

In this article, you will learn how to view your account’s disk usage using cPanel. This is useful if you’re wanting to see which directories are taking up the most space for example a WordPress installation may have the wp-content folder taking most of the space.

To view the locations that are using your accounts file disk usage in cPanel, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to cPanel.
  2. In the search bar search for Disk Usage then click it
  3. The Bar graphs show the whole disk usage by directory
  4. If you scroll towards the bottom you will see disk usage tables that you can expand, sort by size or name to browse the folders more in-depth.If you click on the blue folder names it will open a new tab so you’re able to find the file in the file manager.
  5. From there you’re able to download or delete the file depending on what you would like to do.

How to view email disk usage in cPanel

To view the locations that are using your accounts file disk usage in cPanel, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to cPanel.
  2. In the search bar search for email Disk Usage then click it.
  3. select your account from the dropdown menu.
  4. Click manage to the right of the rows.
  5. You can now select which emails you would like to delete.
    1 year old or more.
    30MB in size or more.
    Previously viewed.
    All Messages.
    Custom query which will need a dovecot query. These can be found at the dovecots website.
  6. Press delete permanently.
