When Jimmy McDonald approached us, his goal was clear: to establish a modern, professional online presence that could showcase his wide-ranging creative services — from photography and videography to social media management and printing. Discovery & Strategy

We began by diving into Jimmy’s work, a blend of visual storytelling that spans weddings, concerts, sports events, and commercial content. Understanding the diversity of his portfolio helped us shape a single-page layout that was dynamic yet easy to navigate. Our focus was to highlight his portfolio while maintaining a cohesive look and feel across the site.

 
Design Goals:
  • Clear Service Structure: We created distinct sections for each of Jimmy’s core offerings — photography, videography, social media management, and printing — giving users a clear understanding of what he provides at a glance.
  • Visual-Led Layout: As a visual professional, it was crucial to let Jimmy’s work speak for itself. We made high-impact imagery central to the design, while keeping the layout minimal and stylish.
  • Mobile First Design: Knowing much of his traffic would come from mobile users via social media links, we prioritised mobile responsiveness, fast load times, and smooth scrolling interactions.
  • Simple Contact Flow: With integrated forms and multiple contact touchpoints (email, phone, WhatsApp, and social media), we made it easy for visitors to take the next step.
  • Professional Yet Approachable Tone:  We used modern fonts, a neutral colour palette, and subtle animations to keep the feel polished but accessible.

From the initial concept to the final build, our aim was to deliver a high-performing, user-friendly website that would position Jimmy as a go-to creative in the Sheffield area and give his future clients a reason to reach out.
